What are the Disciples of Jesus of Nazareth?
The teachings of the Disciples of Jesus of Nazareth reveal that we are souls or spirits who temporarily inhabit a human body, addressing essential existential questions such as: what we are, why we are here, and where we are going.
Our institution is considered scientific because it does not contain dogmas, allowing for continuous study and investigation. This is done through the field of intuition, also known as mediumship, which is a function of the mind—an inherent faculty present in all human beings.
The spiritual teachings transmitted by Jesus of Nazareth explain the causes of human suffering and the meaning behind life’s different experiences. Reincarnation is understood as a reality and should not be confused with speculative or fantastical interpretations.
Incarnation refers to the opportunity freely accepted by the spirit to inhabit a human body temporarily, endowed with a mind that enables thought formation and the reception, interpretation, and transmission of spiritual communications. Reincarnation, in turn, is the process of successive lives in different bodies and families. Both processes exist for the fundamental purpose of the spirit’s evolution after having strayed from divine harmony, even before the existence of the physical universe.
Spiritual evolution is not determined by destiny; it is shaped by our daily actions, our effort to improve, our willingness to change toward the Good, and our understanding of life’s challenges. To evolve means to correct and amend the errors of the spirit. This process requires recognition, sincere repentance, intention, and a genuine willingness to change, expressed through actions that support spiritual growth.
Our faith upholds, as a doctrinal principle, that the redemption or salvation of all spirits is a reality. There is no eternal damnation.
The principles of incarnation and reincarnation indicate that the spirit has the opportunity to return in order to improve its condition a
and continue evolving, regardless of the belief system it follows.
In general, many human beings believe that God punishes or imposes eternal suffering. Our teaching affirms instead that suffering is the consequence of spiritual disorder created by the spirit itself, either in successive lives or within the spiritual dimension.
Loving God leads to a better life and encourages respect for all human beings, regardless of belief or background. Through Its spiritual principles, God provides every spirit with the opportunity to evolve. Spiritual growth does not require suffering; rather, understanding these principles helps explain the disharmony present in the human world and shows the path toward evolution.
At times, human beings experience suffering and attribute it to God. However, the Creator does not punish, and therefore there is no need to fear It. Jesus of Nazareth teaches that God should be loved, because what is loved can also be respected. Fear cannot produce true love; one cannot truly love what one fears.
It is also important to understand that no single religion holds the absolute truth. Absolute truth is not known in this world; it exists only with the Creator. Each religion contains a portion of truth, and these truths may complement one another, even if expressed through different rituals and practices. What matters is that each person, upon leaving their place of worship, recognizes themselves as a child of God and treats all others as brothers and sisters with respect.
Spirits return to God through effort, improvement, and spiritual evolution, once they have regained harmony and overcome their errors.
The Teacher is the Spiritual Guide of this Teaching. For the Institution, Jesus of Nazareth is the Redeemer. We affirm that Mary and Joseph were the biological parents of Jesus and that she and Joseph formed a family according to the Jewish customs of their time. Seven children were born into that family, and Jesus was the sixth. He was a spirit in complete spiritual harmony. Due to the mission he fulfilled and continues to fulfill, he is called the Redeemer, as are his parents, who were also spirits in full harmony.
The Disciples of Jesus of Nazareth originated from the spiritual knowledge of the co-founder, Blanca Aubreton de Lambert, and the co-founder, Eugenio Portal. Over time, the institution developed its own path according to the New Idea brought by the Envoy of God, Jesus of Nazareth, who is regarded as the Spiritual Guide of this Teaching.
In the present century, this Institution continues to spread the Teaching of Redemption brought by Jesus of Nazareth 2,000 years ago, known as the New Idea. Its essential purpose is to reconnect humanity with God.
